Christmas Bags Are Packed!
Pages
Packing Christmas bags for kids in Haiti this year is complete! Over 75 families along with friends, classmates and churches participated in bagging toiletries and treats for 6,000 kids in Haiti. We met and surpassed our goal to get 7,000 and ended up with nearly 10,000 bags!
Kampers were creative as they pulled their friends and resources together to pack bags. Meredith Waites and Abby Lee, K-West kampers, hosted a bake sale. Selby Perkins hosted a talent show. Blake Bringham recruited a couple of his buddies to pull off the big task, as did Ross Brown. Some got donations from local stores, while others reached out to their churches to help support their endeavor. However the method, many kampers were successful in meeting and surpassing the Christmas bag goal. Way to go everyone!
The gifts will be distributed to the school children in Haiti during Christmas.
Registration for next year’s Christmas bag project will open March 1, 2011.
